Los Alamos, New Mexico, songwriter Michael R. J. Roth has performed throughout Northern Mexico as both a solo artist and with the groups Eyes Only and Easy Heroes during the 1980's.

He is also a poet whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone, academic literary magazines, and the underground press. He was an editor and publisher of Read Street magazine, which was named an "Outstanding Small Press Publication" by the Pushcart Prize. One of Roth's songs ("Faded Beauty") took first place in the lyric competition of the 2001 Unisong International Song Contest.
